Why I don't like Slumdog Millionaire
Two reasons, really.
One, it’s a one-trick pony. Flashback, montage, flashback, montage… and some incredible luck!
Two, and this is the more important point, I want movies to ask questions they can’t completely answer. I want movies to unsettle me. I want to be shaken, prodded, riled. I want movies to plant seeds—no, not seeds—viruses. I want movies to infect me...
